I absolutely loved this movie! I loved the comedy, the storyline, the action, the effects, everything! This may be my 4th favorite movie of 2009 behind Friday the 13th, Land of the Lost, and Halloween II! I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews toward this movie, but some people take things a little too seriously. This movie is for the kid in all of us. While on summer vacation, the Pearson family go to three-story holiday house in the middle of nowhere. The kids; Hannah, Tom, and Bethany don’t wanna go, but they are forced to. They meet more family members like Jake, Art, and Lee. When Bethany’s boyfriend forces Tom to the roof, they see the aliens who want to take over the world. Throughout the day, the kids try to stop them, without their parents finding out. One alien, Sparks is not a threat to the humans and decides to become friends with Hannah. Sparks is a cute little alien, unlike Skip, Tazer, and Razor. Will the Pearson children stop the evil aliens from taking over the world? I highly recommend ALIENS IN THE ATTIC!!!

My almost 9 year-old son and I saw this together. It was VERY, VERY funny. We both thought so. (There were way too many male crotch gags, in my opinion, and of course, the law enforcement representative was an idiot. However, we didn’t see his underwear; so, this movie was superior to other kid flicks.) Robert Hoffman is outrageously funny as Ricky the lying-loser boyfriend turned robot alien minion. Ashley Tisdale carries off another major role with credibility, humor, and grace. The DVD is already on my son’s wish list for Christmas, and I will be recommending Aliens to my friends to watch with their kids. I will also recommend it to parents of teenage daughters who need a laugh, a break, or a reminder that Eddie Haskell didn’t die with the Cleavers.

I normally refrain from posting negative reviews in case it’s a question of taste and I may be in conflict with other people in that respect.

However in this case I am pretty sure this is a title to avoid for everybody. Especially when there is such an alternative as Planet Earth which presents a hundred times the content and imagery this IMAX adaptation strives to deliver.. and fails..

First of all, this is a very lousy transfer. They didn’t bother remastering the 40 minute footage and the “dirt” of the master is visible in every frame. It wouldn’t have taken a large team to edit them out. Frankly it’s the most disappointing bluray transfer I’ve seen out of the 40 or more bluray titles I have.

Secondly, the narration, disjointed topics, duration of many of the space imagery which drag on for minutes without any movement contribute to a mindnumbingly boring viewing experience. You’ll notice you’ll be hardpressed not to forward to the next scene every other minute (and let’s admit it, there are not that many to start with)

There’s also an older similar bonus segment in the bluray, with even worse visuals and mostly resembling SD instead of HD in many places..

In short, I’d strongly suggest you skip this bluray in favor of the stunning Planet Earth if you’ve not grabbed it yet.

I got this for my 4 year old son’s birthday last year because he has a fascination with air planes and I was trying to get him interested in the space program. Let’s just say when I first played it, even my husband stopped what he was doing and came over and sat down. We have a large screen TV and it makes you feel like you are really there! The sounds and colors are vivid. And even when there is no sound, the sights are just so amazing you don’t need it- I think that’s part of it’s magic. Maybe it’s just that space is such an unknown and elusive place, but when it shows the view of our planet from space you just get goosebumps. This is a wonderful dvd to pull out on those rainy/snowy days. No matter how many times we have watched it, it still evokes a sense of awe and reverence.

The Facets DVD of Un Chien Andalou is a disgrace. The frame was severly cropped at the top (some scenes feature actors lopped off at their foreheads). Contrast was boosted to the point where significant detail is lost. As if this weren’t enough, there is a wide unsightly glitch running horizontally across the screen that lasts for 5 or so frames. Despite the interviews with Bunuel’s son which are the only things worth the time here, I would avoid this disc. The film itself I think is great. It’s a shame that a staple of art cinema has been handled so poorly for DVD.

Luis Bunuel made his directorial debut with 1929’s “Un Chien Andalou” — a 17 minute short film. The film was made in collaboration with the great surrealistic artist, Salvador Dali; this pairing was repeated for the 1930 masterpiece “L’Age D’Or.” Viewing the first tentative steps of two giants is obviously fascinating, which is enough to recommend “Un Chien Andalou.”

As with other great surrealistic films, the plot, such as it is, does not make any sense. Of course, themes can be derived from the work, although surrealism essentially is meant to be non-thematic. Some of the images from “Un Chien Andalou” are shocking and justifiably famous — most notably a scene depicting a straight razor slicing into a woman’s eyeball. Yes, these scenes are somewhat disgusting but also amazing for a film over 75 years old.

The film has not been updated or cleaned up at all, so the DVD image is somewhat murky. Bunuel added a music track in 1960 to what was originally a silent film; the score works beautifully. The DVD extras include an interview with Bunuel’s son in which he discusses “Un Chien Andalou” as well as his father’s rather tumultuous relationship with Dali. An audio commentary by Spanish surrealism expert Stephen Barber is also included; unfortunately, this track is pretty much unlistenable as Barber drones on about the history of surrealism in a deadly dull manner. Skip the audio commentary and just enjoy Bunuel’s work as is.

This is the first movie I remember seeing as a kid. I LOVED it. It was my favorite. Then, I didn’t get to see it again for several years (stupid Blockbuster!) When I finally saw it again, I STILL liked it. I like it as I write this very day. The music is good (the background music behind the movie that nobody really conciously listens to, but helps the mood anyway). The animation’s good, too. And I ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT! (How often does that happen?) See, what happens a lot of the time, is that people blame colors they don’t like, or designs that are annoying, or WHATEVER on the animation. But it isn’t the animation’s fault! The way the thing on-screen MOVES is the only thing the animators do, mostly. So, if you really want to criticize the animation, look at how they MOVE, not what they look like. Do you see?

I think that, really, most of the reason that this is one of my favorite movies is that it is about BOOKS. When I was little, my dad read me “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” and “The Hobbit”; things like that. So, naturally, I loved books and stories. This is practically the only movie I’ve seen that encourages reading so much while still being sincere. It’s obvious that the filmmakers themselves (or at least, a lot of the people working on it) actually like to read. THAT’S really why I like the Pagemaster.

So, if you like to read, watch this movie. If you don’t (you utter nincompoop), stay away, and don’t criticize what you have no comprehension of.

I first saw this movie with my own Mom when it first came out into the theatres. I am now 14-and I don’t care what you think- and I absolutely loved this movie.

I agree with the review by amazon.com which declares the “animation to be middling, but what can you say about a movie that encourages a kid to pick up a book?” That is so true. In a way, this story reminds me of myslef…no, I’m not overprotective of myself or obsessed with statistics…but I do love to read…fantasy for that matter, and this pulls me back into another fantasy realms that I cannot explain.

Only other people who are like me in this way will enjoy this at older ages, but this is a must-see for all young children! They will love this! I personally think that it in itself is much better that some of Disney’s stuff. Enjoy!

The animation here is first rate and the entire thing is shot like a live-action film with some astounding long shots, grand theatrical panning and even at one point, during Quasimodo’s song “Out There” a realistic camera flare (I did a double win the first time I saw it!) Hunchback is filled with all sorts of large “tricks” like this. Lighting effects here are nothing short of elegant – often subtle they sometimes change in an instant dramatically altering the mood of the allotment. Frodo’s demonic song “Hellfire” is perhaps one the most faulty and repugnant moments to emerge from Disney and the animators let loose.

The prologue to the movie alone is a minor masterpiece and, like Beauty and the Beast, marvelously prepares us for the whirlwind of a chronicle to purchase situation.

The complaints about the singing and dancing gargoyles Victor, Hugo and Laverne, are simply wrongheaded. I read the Hugo classic too, and know they’re not in there. What the complainants fail to realize is these gargoyles live only in Quasimodo’s imagination. He invented these companions to ease an otherwise tortured, lonely, friendless life. The culmination of all of this becomes clear in the spectacular song “A guy like you” which finishes with pigeons flying and hearts and banners and ribbons and Quasimodo being illustrious and then BAM immediately upon the conclusion of the final notes, the room becomes the same dismal, dank, splintering tower filled with relics, junk and heartbreak. It’s one of the movie’s most shattering effects.

While deserved praise goes to the animators and crew, the exclaim talent here is, in my belief, Disney’s very best. Tom Hulce goes to the very soul of Quasimodo and gives a performance that is as poignant and shattering as anything he has done (Hulce also happened to be the best Hamlet I’ve ever seen.) Positive lines (”I am a monster, you know”) will ring in my ear forever. Hulce has a magnificent lisp and renders “Out there” with such abandon and vigor it makes my hair stand on extinguish. In the tranquil “Heaven’s light” (which sequences into a gorgeous shot of the bells frantically ringing the opening theme), Hulce brings a fragility to such lines as “no face as frightful as my face, was ever meant for Heaven’s light” that only a heart of stone would not be moved. Switching from pathos to rage, Hulce lets us feel the hidden rage and concern that this character also possesses. It is a truly powerful performance.

Demi Moore, Kevin Kline, Tony Jay, Paul Kandel – and the rest of the cast all sound at the top of their game creating fantastic and gleaming characters.

Alan Menkin and Stephen Schwartz fetch to the heart of the matter with rep and songs – a sound – that are as integral a portion of the telling of this anecdote as the animation and voices.

It would not be hard to peek a more difficult sage line for Disney to adapt on conceal than Victor Hugo’s “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”, but that doesn’t mean it was a hobble in the park either. Not only is there the conundrum of how to compose Quasimodo right to his character and at the same time not so grisly in appearance as to frighten off youngsters, but how will Victor Hugo’s sunless commentary of 15th Century Parisian life, capital punishment and religious bigotry be accommodated? What of Claude Frollo’s lascivious desires for Esmerelda and wanton acts upon Quasimodo and gypsies? And that ending…a bit of a downer don’t you judge? Well, own it or not, Disney stays correct to each of these facets of the recent…with the exception of the tragic conclusion, of course.

The villain (Frollo) is among the most despicable characters ever portrayed in a Disney movie, and unlike Jafar (”Alladin”) or Hades (”Hercules”), there is nothing comical about him. On the other hand, the animators went a shrimp overboard with Quasimodo, who kinda looks like a red-headed Chris Farley. And Phoebus has the personality of Al Gore…if he were any more wooden you’d have to check him for termites. Also, some very engrossing characters from the book are regrettably absent. Where’s Pierre Gringoire, Jehan Frollo, and Sister Gudule? Calm, the animation is breathtaking, and the finale is nearly flawless…preferred to new version if you’re a sentimental fan of ecstatic endings.

The movie contains a few hilarious subliminal references, as when Quasimodo (Tom Hulce) is dressed up briefly as Amadeus. The music is amazing and supports the film’s most compelling scenes: Esmerelda singing “God Attend The Outcasts” while taking sanctuary in the cathedral, the counterpoint of Quasimodo’s “Heaven’s Light” to Frollo’s “Hell Fire,” and the heart-pumping come by late the finale. Probably would have been given a PG rating if not for Eisner’s influence over MPAA.

This 69 runt Loew’s release features an enchanting company leisurely Reginald Owen as Ebenezer Scrooge. Carroll is Marley’s ghost and Ann Rutherford portrays “Christmas Past.” Silent-era clown Billy Bevan, who also lent his raspy basso express to early Looney Tunes shorts, appears as “Leader of Street See.”

In the romantic comedy CHRISTMAS IN CONNECTICUT (1945), Sydney Greenstreet is third billed unhurried Barbara Stanwyck and Dennis Morgan. Miss Stanwyck’s character was based on Gladys Taber, a ladies magazine columnist who lived on a Connecticut farm. John Dehner cameos as a site trooper. Dehner began as a Disney animator, then appeared often on radio– he was Paladin on HAVE GUN, WILL Proceed. Other cast members: Reginald Gardiner, Una O’Conner and Frank Jenks. Also here is “ditzy blonde” specialist Joyce Compton. (To study Miss Compton at her nuttiest, check out Eddie Sutherland’s 1940 turn-of-the-century farce, THE VILLAIN Peaceful PURSUED HER, with Alan Mowbray as the baddie and Buster Keaton playing his opposite.)

IT HAPPENED ON FIFTH AVENUE (1947) was the very first ALLIED ARTISTS release. This company was formed when MONOGRAM Pictures and two smaller outfits merged. Frank Capra was slated to bellow until producer-director Roy Del Ruth purchased shroud rights to this account of a homeless man and his friends who choose advantage of a manson left empty while the owners are away for the holidays. The heavenly cast includes Don DeFore, Ann Harding, Charles Ruggles, Victor Customary, Gale Storm, Grant Mitchell, Edward Brophy and Alan Hale Jr.

Ernst Lubitsch’s holiday romance THE SHOP AROUND THE CORNER (1940) was a first shroud adaptation of Hungarian playwright Miklós László’s “Perfumerie” (aka “Illatszertár”) . This storyline was later faded for the 1949 musical, IN THE Profitable Customary SUMMERTIME and in 1998 for YOU’VE GOT MAIL. Director Lubitsch, who also worked in a Budapest shop as a boy, called this his common movie. Unlike most productions, all scenes were filmed sequentially. Cast includes Margaret Sullavan, Jimmy Stewart, Frank Morgan, Joseph Schildkraut and in a walk-on, Sarah Edwards.

Christmas in Connecticut is a astronomical holiday romantic comedy about a young woman who writes for a magazine geared to homemakers. She claims to be married, have a child and live on a farm in Connecticut, but is actually a single, childless, apartment dweller. The problems open when her publisher wants her to give a fresh war hero a home for the holidays on her Connecticut farm. She consents to marry a long-time boyfriend who actually has a farm in Connecticut to place her editor from losing his job. They arrange to be married on the farm, but the believe doesn’t gather the job done before the war hero arrives. That creates some awkward moments. The housekeeper tends babies for women who are working during the war, and they are supposed to be “the child” but with a different baby showing up each day confusion ensues. Stanwyck’s character, of course, begins to tumble for the hero, who is also falling for her but thinks she is a married woman and is trying to respect that. It is all advantageous, trim fun and “What a Christmas!”

The Shop Around the Corner is a very clever comedy whose theme has been repeated in other movies, as mentioned in Annie’s review. Clara is falling for the man with whom she corresponds on purely sparkling subjects. She has never met him. At the same time she gets a job in a leather goods shop and cannot collect along with her boss (Jimmy Stewart) . You can figure it out from there. Scrumptious fun. Either one of these two movies is worth the impress of this package.

It Happened on 5th Avenue is a great film. The owner of a 5th Avenue mansion is wintering elsewhere and a hobo helps himself to the house. He invites in others who need a plot to stop in the housing crunch following WWII. Without their knowledge, one of their fellow tenants is actually the owner, who hides his identity to recognize what is going on in his home.

Everyone knows the yarn of A Christmas Carol, so I won’t clarify on this one. This is a astounding space of holiday movies at a tag that can’t be beat. If you don’t like dark and white movies this may not satisfy you, but the stories are mammoth and my family really enjoys them. The only complaint I have is that they are double-sided disks and I buy single sided.

I’m previewing “Shelter” for the Brisbane Irregular Film Festival where it screens on Saturday 24th May 2008. “Shelter” shines as a film with gargantuan heart, and one that’s been made with equal care by the actors and all of the film-makers.

It’s not at all like the angst-ridden abomination of a blissful surf flick “Tan Lines”. In “Shelter” surfing is simply a fact of life element – it’s not ancient or abused as a way.

“Shelter” is a beautifully edited, spectacular looking and delectable sounding film which is definitely character driven. Each of the main characters is carefully developed so that we quite soon settle that we really do care about Zach, his young nephew Cody and Zach’s savor interest, Shaun. We want things to work out for them.

We understand that Zach is in a bind – he’s allowed himself to be the physical and emotional anchor for a progressively more dysfunctional family, but we know that he deserves noteworthy better life options. The writer and director of Shelter has done a wonderful job – not a perceive or word is wasted, and yet the whole streak of the film is very relaxed.

“Shelter” deserves every accolade that any individual or Festival might care to bestow.

In Shelter, Zach is a young artist who has turned down a scholarship at CalArts in order to halt home to care for his nephew Cody. Zach has inherited the family gene, from his mother he says. All the concerns and nearly all the care for the five year aged Cody should score in his mother, Zach’s sister Jeanne, he gets from Zach alone. Shaun has been criticized by some viewers for being too patient with Zach. But patience is allotment of like, one of the virtues that abet people abide all the messes we manufacture or almost fabricate out of our lives. When Zach learns that Shaun has mailed his application and portfolio to CalArts, he sees, quietly, the man’s generosity. In a method, Shaun has shown that he loves Zach as satisfactory and patiently as Zach loves Cody. Zach’s and Shaun’s erotic communion is intense. It is a gesture of cherish between them as telling as any more passionate embrace. The seemingly unencumbered lives both men had known together surfing when younger–Shaun the master, Zach the pupil in a running joke between them–has grown into a worship that is in every sense righteous. I deem this is one of the best movies ever made about delighted men, searchingly decent and generously curious about esteem without any loss in erotic force. It is also wonderfully realized, except in a few of the songs on the soundtrack, in both the director’s sight and the hearts of all the performers, even those in relatively minor roles (Gabe is as perfect a surfer dude as one can imagine, but with more than the usual soul) . But Trevor Wright as Zach gives to his character an especially touching complexity. Zach is in some ways mild a kid, talking in the lingo of surfers, tagging buildings, riding his skateboard. But he’s also emotionally older than everyone else in his life, already committed to a procedure of living many people never reach to. His coming out is more painful to himself than it is to others perhaps because his need for actual communion is already so gargantuan. Yet he finds it. This is emotionally complex work for so young an actor. But every gesture he makes, everything he expresses is true; no moment ever feels fake or contrived. What the movie leaves one with is a sense of both the hopes and ambiguities of honest being, a far more difficult, yet greater life than merely riding the waves of one’s youth.

I cautiously first went to witness “My Cousin Vinny” when Marisa Tomei won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, because–unlike many people–I don’t like Joe Pesci. I unexcited don’t like Joe Pesci, BUT the role of Vincent LaGuardia Gambini in “My Cousin Vinny” is perfect for him, and his performance is stellar. For me Joe Pesci is Vincent Gambini and Vincent Gambini is Joe Pesci. And, it was my conception when I first saw “My Cousin Vinny,” as it is now after watching the DVD I objective got, that Marisa Tomei more than deserved the Oscar. It is my concept, moreover, that many times award winning performances are discredited by viewers because the actor is performing so well that it appears they are not acting at all. (Please ticket that I count myself among those who explore the Oscars as politically driven; so, when I agree with them–which is seldom–I am truly standing up to be counted) .

The product description does a elegant job of describing the account outline; although it hardly makes “My Cousin Vinny” sound nearly as silly as it is. But the movie is about more than two kids from the city mistakenly arrested for kill in (the implicitly implied “redneck”) Alabama. The film is a light-hearted contemplate of culture clashes, where all characters have stereotypical traits and stereotype the other characters themselves. The movie is also about assumptions–along with the inherent worry of such–and how the “meaning” of these assumptions vary with regards to experience and socialization. “My Cousin Vinny” also examines gender roles–and it is here that Tomei shines–and education/science versus experience and popular knowledge. But, most importantly, “My Cousin Vinny” demonstrates the importance of “doing the suitable thing,” regardless of the consequences (and in some cases the legality of the action) . Pesci’s character finally “gets it,” and is able to fetch his way; but only through the assistance of Tomei’s character and the trust of Billy Gambini (inconsistently performed by Ralph Macchio) .

As for the other reviewer’s triad about the language in this DVD version of the movie, as compared to the bleeped television version, I have these comments: 1) the movie is rated “R,” which should have informed you about the probability of profanity; 2) while it may seem like there is a lot of profanity in the movie, it is completely applicable to the map these characters would actually speak–and I suspect that there is actually less profanity than it sounds like; 3) when “My Cousin Vinny” was made (1992), most movies were though-provoking towards increased spend of profanity–especially “R” rated movies; and 4) is overt profanity that mighty worse than suggested or ribald “comedy? ” Moreover, impartial how does the sudden inclusion of (generally appropriately aged) profanity into any dialog–films or otherwise–change the humor or originate it no longer droll? In fact, I personally hear fair as remarkable, if not more, profanity customary by children, teenagers, adults, and seniors at the store than in the movie; which I beget is unpleasant misuse of profanity, but is the procedure of life today. For me, and I am obvious many others, a big comic movie, is a big comic movie in spite of the language. Remember, there was a day when movies couldn’t even rely on language to be comic.

Now for the mystery I am having exertion understanding: Why is this version of the DVD/VHS not being lumped together with the other versions with regards to reviews? To date (12 June 2008), there is only one review listed for this version, while there are 129 reviews for the other version currently available. This is so uncharacteristic of Amazon! And, in reach ultimate irony, it appears that there is no dissimilarity between this version and the other “lower priced” (I got mine when it was sale) version, other than the fact that this version has a gold cardboard slipcase (the box inside is exactly like the other one) and the listing has the inferior actors!

When Modern Yorkers Billy Gambini (played by Ralph Macchio) and Stan Rothenstein (Mitchell Whitfield) are wrongly accused of destroy in Beechum County, Alabama, they call in a lawyer they know – Vincent “Vinny” Gambini (Joe Pesci) . He knows how to argue and how to procure to the truth, but as a very-newly minted lawyer, does he really know what he’s doing? Everyone seems to steal an instant detest to this smooth-talking city-slicker, but Vinny isn’t going to let anything approach in the map of his proving the boys’ innocence.

Well, I must admit that this is one of my all-time current movies. On the down-side, and it is a astronomical down-side, the swearing in this movie is strong and almost non-stop, with the f-bomb being thrown around like confetti on Unique Year’s Eve. But, in spite of this, the movie is so well-made that you can’t serve but like it.

Joe Pesci is grand, of course, but the rest of the cast carries their possess weight, making ever scene in the movie really work. Marisa Tomei does an great job as Vinny’s fiancé Ms. Mona Lisa Vito, and Fred Gwynne brings in a stellar performance in his last major role – Contemplate Chamberlain Haller. Plus, I found the storyline to be non-stop comic, and the mystery to be quite involving.

Yep, this is one of my popular movies, and I reflect it will be adored by audiences for many years to reach. With the movie’s language it’s not for children, but it definitely is for everyone else!

This 1965 multi-award winning film is a riveting portrait of a woman who deviously claws her method to the top, in search of “happiness and completion”. Julie Christe won an Oscar for her portrayal of Diana Scott, and manages to perform this “trivial and shallow” woman though-provoking.

Frederick Raphael, who also won an Oscar for his work, wrote a epic and script that is the basis of what makes this a riveting film to view. Every scene makes sense, and every phrase has a purpose; there is not a single word that does not belong, or is unnecessary.

It is wonderfully photographed in a very crisp sunless and white by Ken Higgins, and has an unobtrusive but ravishing catch by John Dankworth.

Director John Schlesinger brings out the best in even the bit players, and most of all, from Dirk Bogarde, who gives a heartbreaking, radiant performance as one of Diana’s stepping stones. Laurence Harvey plays a vain and vile character with the snakelike coldness he is so top-notch at, and of course, Christie is in her prime, and her beauty and talent shine shimmering.

Though the atmoshpere of the film is caught in the ’60s, the chronicle and characters are timeless; this film deserves to be viewed, for its tall performances, and as a portrait of how times change, but powerful of humanity stays the same, and selfish desires, even when ecstatic, are but clanging brass.

Winner of the 1965 Oscar for Best Actress, the attractive and pouty lipped Julie Christie gives a delicate performance as an amoral screen girl, Diana Scott, in the swinging ’60s in London.

Diana, who is married, is having an affair with a married television correspondent, Robert Gold, played to perfection by the sexy and world weary, Dirk Bogarde. Eventually, they leave their respective mates and region up house together in swinging London. All is not hunky dory for long, as Julie goes on to have an affair with her agent, Miles, divinely played by Laurence Harvey. When Robert discovers her lies and infidelity, he leaves her.

Diana goes on to party hearty, and she ultimately meets a wealthy and widowed, Italian prince while on set in Italy shooting a commercial. After a perfunctory meeting, she meets up with him again, and he proposes. She thinks about his proposal, and ultimately consents to becoming Princess Diana.

Only after marrying him, a virtual stranger to her, does she realize how lonely she is. She finds herself being left in their palazzo with his seven children, while the prince is away, ostensibly visiting his mother without her. She realizes that she is living in a gilded cage, no more than a trophy wife.

She impulsively contacts Robert and flies to England to meet with him. After they perform adore, she realizes how noteworthy she loved him, and declares her feelings for him, only to be rebuffed. He then sends her packing, benefit to her empty life in Italy. Yet, he does so at colossal emotional cost to himself, as well.

This film is very representative of the swinging sixties and conveys a sincere sense of the joie de vivre of the period. It deals with subjects that were formerly taboo. There are subtle and sly references to homosexuality. Abortion and a woman’s sexuality are issues in the film and dealt with in a design with which these issues were not ordinarily dealt. While it may seem tame by today’s standards, this was very cutting edge in its time, and reflective of some of the changes which society, as a whole, was undergoing. This movie is definitely an oldie but a goodie.
